I know what you're talking about--I've had this problem a couple of times with fatter (38+) tires. If I run the front pressure too low, it feels darty when turning--the front dives into the turn too quickly and feels unstable. Tracking in a straight line is affected, too--it comes off it's line too easily and feels unstable. Usually adding 5-10psi is enough to resolve it without too much impact on comfort...
