Proves my argument from our Trout Unlimited chapter board meeting yesterday. Texas has one chapter, Guadalupe River, it's also the state council, has 5000 members and is the 3rd largest business unit within the national organization, behind Michigan and New York state councils. Somebody said we could save money printing newsletters by forcing people to "opt in" if they want to receive printed newsletters rather than online. No, opting out is great, but if the choice is to opt in, we lose communication with 4000 of those 5000 members, and that communication is part of our directive. They need to know that we're working to restore native Rio Grande cutthroat trout in McKittrick Canyon.
