They have existed for a long time . They are not Nitto's .... and they are not the "classic" shape. Profile H2O are still made, but only in black. I use a Taiwanese Zoom brand stem on my Bombadil. They are welded , but that's alright. They are oval, but that's alright . They work wonderfully and I never have to remove anything from the bar ever again !! unless I want to :)
Some may poo poo the shape of these ... ahh... to each their own. Just because I was forced to use the "classic" shape most of my life does not mean it was/is any better... it just mean that's all there was ! Even today ... I will gladly use a quill adapter and a threadless stem over those "classic" stem every day of the week. You can get short adapters all the way to really tall(225mm) ones from Nitto . Choose your own threadless stem, there's a lot to choose from in angles and lengths !
