I have the Midge bars, after staring at a friend's for years. Other than they might swoop out a big too much, I love them. Anyway, padding - on all my handlebars I put Specialized Bar Phat under the tape. I've used the corky Cinelli tape and the Deda Elementi tape. We've got wicked chipseal up here in the Pacific Northwet, so I really appreciate extra padding.
