If one ran a string from one of the Alba bar ends to the other, the closest approach of my knee would be slightly below and behind that string. My knees are within strike range of the silver shifter when it is 45 degrees below the horizontal. For reference, I ride a 52 cm Sam with an 11 cm Tallux stem. The horizontal segment of the stem is about 1 inch above seat level.
