I recently converted my Rivendell Road to 650B x 38mm Grand Bois Lierre
(from 700C x 28mm Ruffy Tuffy). The Lierres roll very well and are quite
comfy. I inflate them to about 60 psi (slightly lower in front, higher in
back). I rode 200 miles on them at RAGBRAI and liked them immensely.
Grand Bois tires were designed to have very little rolling resistance
after Jan Heine's tests, and I confirm that they picked up speed easily and
held it.

I'd have shod my Riv with Hetres if they fit, but I don't think that my
Road has the horizontal clearance for them: about 2mm between the Lierres
and the fork legs.
