In addition to below, the Select's frame and rails have a coarse matte black finish, presumably for less chance of slippage (?), or possibly as just another point of differentiation.
Also, as of at least a couple of years ago, the tension bolt still relied on the trusty Brooks spanner, though a hex head in the nose would sure be handy.
