I was bummed that I couldn't make it down to San Diego for this Saturday's morning ride, so Jim's email seeing about a ride was the perfect consolation! I wasn't sure I could pull that off given my domestic responsibilities, but a mid-afternoon meet up worked out perfect.
I think we were out from 2:40 to 6:40. Went maybe 20 miles in those four hours, but rode at least 2/3 of them on dirt drails, went to a fantastic regional brewery, drank beer as fresh as it can be, rode into the sunset out by the (dry) river, ended up with pizza and a pitcher special... man, what a great time! And Mike, the Strada Rossa route needs to have a good pre-ride... have to make sure everything is as it should be for the big day! There's a good 30+ mile loop of it that'll make you happy!
