I like things the way they are, but I have my own interface to this list 
limited to zero emails.  A high traffic board like this would generate more 
emails than I'd like to deal with.  I use Google Chrome and the drop down 
menu on the right works fine.

The annoyance that I do experience with "Re: posts" is the following 
situation.

1.  Seller lists some item for Sale
2.  Somebody buys that thing from the seller off list
3.  Seller starts a new thread with a new post, saying:  "that thing that I 
had for sale is sold now"

Why on earth would you not just reply to your own initial For Sale post? 
 It's not like the end of the world, but it is completely the wrong way to 
do it.  Start a thread with "For Sale" and end that thread with "SOLD!". 
 Start a thread with "Want to Buy", and end that same thread with "Got one, 
thanks!"  There is no reason to do it any other way, besides laziness.
