What a wondrous mirror. I live in a wee town, 700 year-round souls. Doubles in summer with folks from Texas, Kansas, and Oklahoma seeking relief, unless fires keep them away. I have no hair on top, an ever greying beard, I run and bike barefoot in shorts or breeches, generally wear the same looking clothing every day, my kids go barefoot as much as I do, I run trails and am often startled out of active contemplative prayer when someone is close (if I don't smell their laundry detergent from a mile away because of wind direction), I bike or walk to the post (when I go at all). Oh, and before I discovered breeches to be the least nerve-firing leg-wear, I always wore a kilt. And I say nutty stuff like "May God startle you with joy!" to folks I see. I was written off years ago by most in our town. Sardonic grin.
