one thing to remember about customs is that their resale value is comparatively lousy. a custom only has extra value to the original purchaser. jan will tell you the most valuable rene herse bikes are standard models, not the customs. maybe you can get a custom that is a copy of an atlantis for cheaper than a real atlantis, but the real one will keep its value a lot better. if you are never going to sell your bike, then that doesn't matter
