Going through Camp Pendleton you'll need and ID like your Passport and a helmet otherwise it should be smooth sailing.
I think traveling through Los Angeles is doable but sort of a pain like the transition from South of Palos Verdes into Long beach the bridge's are narrow so I've been told.
