absolutely agree you can elastically spread your rear triangles that far without concern - my daughter's 126mm Fuji is running 130mm 9-speed rear axle - we even changed a flat on the trail - no worries. On my old Raleigh, though, the triangles were stiff enough that it is pretty taxing to spread them elastically. Just now making the 700c conversion on the old bike, and I'm excited about the tire options compared to Pasela, Pasela, Pasela.
