I can't help with riding tips, as I've never been to Tennessee, but I will say that if I ever went to Franklin, I would geek out immensely on the Civil War History there. It was an incredible battle at Franklin. "The Widow of the South" is a novel about the events surrounding the battle, and it's one I enjoyed very much.
