Hi Michael, You may want to consider the Nitto Dynamic (I'm assuming that's their "normal" road stem). It comes in a 6cm extension. It has a short quill -- 145mm -- which may be what you're looking for. From the minimum insertion point, you've got 78mm to the top of the stem.
(I've found that, on smaller bikes (i.e., with relatively short head tubes), the Technomic just puts the bars too high even if it's inserted as far as possible.
