Now I see where the misunderstanding is.
We're not talking about cults and the occult here. Those are false
religions. Big difference. We're talking about teachers who claim to be
Christian who are teaching things that are patently against what God has
revealed to us in Scripture. Not special, direct revelation to a single
person.
I'm not saying they aren't Christian, but based on their fruit, I wouldn't
say they are either. Basically, the jury is still out on them because what
they teach stands opposed to Scripture and therefore God. Could it be
mistake on their part? Of course. But when corrected, they should
immediately retract. Before publishing, they should be learned men of God
and His Holy Word.
Again, I see where you've misunderstood -- and perhaps the others here who
have reacted in a hostile manner are just misunderstanding as well. The term
false teacher is not for one with whom you have a minor, non-doctrinal
disagreement. It's for those who teach something in direct opposition to
Scripture. Not opinion.
Glad you asked and glad that was something we could clear up!
Grace be to you, brother!
In His Service,
Kevin
