I don't know. Maybe try the r-sig-fedoara list. I use Debian and Ubuntu where things work. I find CentOS extremely constraining, and the colleagues that (still) use it install most things from source. I prefer apt, dpkg and the Debian/Ubuntu machinery. (That said Rcpp does _of course_ work there; CRAN runs to RH/Fedora based test machines.)
