Thanks to both Yixuan and Doug for coming in with actual clues. We have had 'add access to crossprod' as a TODO for Rcpp for ages. Might be nice to add helper functions for this as these are indeed commonly used interfaces to frequentluy needed LAPACK/BLAS functionality. Then again, leaving it to (Rcpp)Armadillo and (Rcpp)Eigen also makes some sense as Rcpp itself does little actual matrix math.
