Welp, this past weekend marked the start of the Merkava build. The wood
finally arrived and we managed to cut the basic sizes needed for the hull
pieces. I didn't have a lot of time to work on it, only a couple hours, before
the woods crafts shop closed. But it's a start!

Since I had a bunch of wood left over, we also cut the basic hull pieces for a
M113. I'll build both vehicles side by side. The M113 is going to be a
support vehicle at first, but I may build a removable turret later on to
convert it between tank and support vehicle. :)

Interestingly enough, Israel and a few other European countries stuck tank
turrets on M113s and outfitted them with anything from a 60mm - 75mm gun. If I
read the rules right, that would give the vehicle 30 - 40 rounds. It would
also get a 3 hit defense due to the 38mm armor. Not to bad for a armored
personnel carrier. Heh.

Anyway, work will start up again in a couple weeks. This weekend is a major
holiday in Korea and all roads will look like rush hour LA traffic... except
for three days.
