I'd just add that before worrying too much about scale plans you
should think about motors, gears, markers and electrics. You don't
want to build a perfect scale hull then find it's 1/16th inch too
narrow for your motors. It can also affect your choice of model as if
you're using wood or metal sheets then you might want one of the
welded hulls whereas if you are molding then the cast versions would
make more sense.
