Tank Expo 2009 will be held on Saturday, January 31 from 10am to 4pm at
the Tri-Pact Convention Center in beautiful Annapolis, Maryland. You
don't need a tank to attend, the event is open to anyone who wants to
talk or learn about any of the technologies used in the hobby, such as
R/C electronics, molding, welding, paintball markers, motor control,
suspension systems, etc. In past years, we've enjoyed the participation
of warship, sailboat, scale and Star Wars hobbyists.
The agenda will be full, including but not limited to:
- the unveiling and testing of new tanks and vehicles,
- debut of new tank kit components from Anvilus Plastic Works,
- demonstration of a new family of electronic components from Cheap
Control Systems,
- hands-on training for intermediate lathe and milling operations,
- Round-table Discussion: Are speed limits really needed?,
- Expert Forum Topic: Can the Europeans really battle?,
- "Tyng On Tyng" - thought provoking monologue on how hobby technology
has evolved and where it could be heading, and
- Will's Super Bowl picks and predictions.
As always, admission is free, with snacks and drinks provided. The
traditional donut box ceremony will begin promptly at 10am, so you won't
want to miss the pageantry. If you need directions to the Convention
Center, please reply as such and I'll send you directions privately.
