Those things are expensive. I've looked all over for lower prices and haven't had any luck. Bevel gears mate like miter gears but allow ratios other than 1:1. They are even more expensive ! American Scientific Surplus had a great set of bevel gears available years ago and I kick myself for not buying several pairs. I think those gears were from outboard boat motors, so maybe you can scrounge some from a boat junkyard. Do those exist ?
This place has gears, but they are often much heavier than our tanks need.
