I built my bulldog out of 3 mm steel, it is overweight for its scale, about
200 percent of scale weight.
One lesson I learnt is that it doesn¹t matter how strong you make the body,
what is more important to me are how the wheels, swing arms drive train,
idlers etc are built because if you want to go flat out over obstacles the
body will hardly get a belting, its your suspension and tracks that have top
be up for it.

So how I have changed my method on the lecelrc was to build the body out of
1.5mm steel but have the frontal plate as 6mm giving me a lightweight body
with a heavily armoured front.

Have to admit that as my bulldog is heavy for its size it does give a
satisfying feeling driving it as it flattens all tall grass before it and
has a rather impressive push/pull capability.
