I don;t know. Maybe it is possessed after all (although the BT7 that carries
this controller has Russian icons for extra protection).

Or maybe I should take the icons out, in case I went blasphemic trying to be
historically faithful !
This is a new ESC. The older one just fried when a cable got stuck in the
tracks, and drew tons of amps . Quite spectacular, actually (I added fuses
after that). The older ESC was doing the same trick on this tank with the same
RC receiver.

If it is affected by vibrations and shocks, it has to be suspended from
springs. Do ESCs need to be suspended from springs? I think I have seen this
somewhere, in Neal's tanks?
Could be wires running close to it, or just a cage effect. All of my tanks are
metal. The Saber ESC sits on spacers, on a wooden table with an MDF plate and
has a large hole under the ESC itself. Plus teh 12 V fan.
Anyway, it is not a major major problem. When teh confused ESC goes nuts, I
run and kill teh power, and it resets.

I don't know what's causing the Sabertooth 2x25 to go nuts in one of my
tanks. All of the sudden, and even when teh batteries are fully charged, it
goes insane. Usually what it does is it goes reverse at full speed and jams
there. If I kill the power from teh killer switch, it resets and is
"collaborates" with my RC. I installed a 12 V fan on 18V current blowing air
on the ESC and still does teh same unpredictable tricks. I now wonder if it
is affected by shocks and vibrations or if there is a short circuit
somewhere . I checked for teh latter again and again. Couldn't find a leak.

we had a similar problem in my dad's one submarine, the rudder servo would
just peg all the way over to one side BUT this only happened when we were
testing it in the one neighbor's pool, but if i went to another neighbor's
pool, there was no problem. it only happened in the one pool.

is it possible something in your tank is effecting it? maybe some rare fluke
with your radio system or main power feeds? any other wires come close to the
speed controller unit or the wires leading to it?

did you try this unit in something else to see if it still does it?

  possessed tank?
