As you guys have seen, the Sturmtiger has a ball and socket set-up for the main gun. My problem right now is filling the socket with a ball. So, I took the idea of a ball literally. My daughter has one of those flimsy rubber volleyballs made out of rubber. I have deflated it and what do you know? It fits perfectly in the gun socket I have right now. The idea would be to cut a hole in the volleyball for the gun sleeve to fit through (made from a large PVC pipe) and seal it with some sort of caulk. On the opposite side of the ball, I would cut another hole big enough to be able to pour resin around the barrel sleeve. Using something like Smooth-on resin, I would fill the ball up about 3/4 of the way full. Once it cures cut the ball away and voila, a nice ball to fit in the socket. Anyone have and pros or cons of doing this? Does the resin expand while it's curing? I'm asking that since the ball does stretch when it's filled with air. Also, if there are any other ideas, I'd be open to those also.
