I've tried this route before. Building a truck that big requires a lot of
specialised equipment. As most of the parts will have to be fabricated. And
purchasing all the RC parts and hopups is way way too expencive. My half built
8 x 8 is still sitting in the workshop as waiting for parts is another headach.
You go to the hobby shop find the part that fits say ok I'll have 8 or 16 of
them only to find they only have 4 in stock. Then the waiting begins. My
project on the shelve is the Rooikat South African military 8 x 8 1:12 scale

Subject: [TANKS] for anyone thinking of a multi axel vehicle, this might
(not) be for you

  i was looking through this 4 x 4 site and came across someone building a 10 x
10 truck. i am only up to page 9 and will be reading some more on this build.
the truck's body is very nice looking, but all the little suspension arms and
such isn't for me (and possibly for others wanting to use such a vehicle on the
battle field). i was looking through the site to see if anyone was working with
the 10" wheels you can buy at harbor freight but didn't see anything as of yet.
