what motors are you using? If you haven't got them yet, look at gearing pre-geared M01's or similar, this will let you go a 9/10/11 on the geared motor and a 13 or so on the shaft
if you already have non-geared motors and this is why you're looking at the gearing tranny, you may need to build a three or more stage tranny to allow for small sprocket fitment on the shaft On May 4, 7:53 am, [email protected] wrote: > my new catalog from Surplus Center arrived a few days back and i just > getting around to going through it to see what has changed (besides item and > shipping cost) and as i was updating my wish list for the Tiger, i got to the > gears between the motor (trany) and the power axle when it dawned on me, i > can't just take a 24 tooth sprocket, put it on the axle and expect to be > able to mount the shaft against the rear of the tank and expect it to fit. > i'm now looking to put on the lowest toothed sprocket that will fit onto the > > 3/4" axle (i keep thinking it was something like an 18 tooth). but then > that also means i have to add another sprocket or two to the trany i was > planning to build. > > I'm going to see what the largest sprocket is i can fit using them 2 bolt > bearing units (pillow bearings where they? i forget the name of them now) > > i was just wondering how many have ran into this issue (almost overlooked > goof) when figuring things out things like this. > > Chris, > _Odyssey Slipways_ (http://hometown.aol.com/odysseyslipways/index.html) > **************The Average US Credit Score is 692.
