what  motors are you using? If you haven't got them yet, look at
gearing  pre-geared M01's or similar, this will let you go a 9/10/11 on
the geared  motor and a 13 or so on the shaft

if you already have non-geared motors  and this is why you're looking
at the gearing tranny, you may need to build  a three or more stage
tranny to allow for small sprocket fitment on the  shaft


i'm using 24v 350w reversible scooter motors and have worked out a  small 
gear down trany using 25 pitch chain. not looking at the drawings, i think  i 
have it going from the sprocket on the scooter to a 24 tooth, on the same  
shaft another 12 tooth that runs to another 24 tooth and on that same shaft  
another sprocket that would drive the sprocket on the axle. all of that i 
had  worked out, it just depends on the sprocket i put onto the axle giving 
me my  final reduction that will change the last sprocket in the trany.
 
i had these motors before the M-01's or i would have just bought  them.
 
i just wanted to see how many may have run into this problem while  
designing their tank
