Good to know. Thanks, Steve. Did you get ahold of Al, the battery guy from
the RobotFest ?

Subject: [TANKS] WARNING - Bad eBay Battery Vendor

FYI:

If your in the market for SLA's do yourself a favor and avoid
purchasing them from eBay vendor Ptron2. I bought four 20AH batteries
from them and had several issues:

- Packaged poorly which resulted in damage to one of the batteries.
- Batteries were over a year old when seller stated fresh stock, less
than 30 days old.
- Date codes and model numbers did not match.
- Arrived in a discharged state though advertised as being fully
charged before shipping.
- Did not ship in "factory sealed box" as seller advertised, instead
arrived
shoehorned into two small USPS Priority Mail flat-rate boxes.
- Unresponsive to emails and calls. Deletes emails unread.
- Like pulling teeth to get a refund.

I did a little research and Ptron2 does business under the following
names so avoid these sellers also.

- Battery Marketing Associates
- EBC battery
- Sunn Battery
- PDC Furniture

Pass the word, cross post, lets put a dent into this guys cashflow!

BTW, eBay seller SLABATTERY (whom I purchased 18AH SLA's from after
dealing with above) sent fresh stock with date codes as advertised.
Though they were also shipped in flat-rate USPS Priority Mail boxes,
they were larger boxes and the battery's were better packaged and
arrived undamaged.
