Hi Derek,

The term "billet" is used loosly. I can buy PVC bar, rod, tube and sheet
much like aluminum or steel. Its easy to machine,is relatively cheap
and is good for prototyping. Each track link started from a solid
block of PVC 2"x 1-1/2"x 5". As for metal tracks I wanted to build a
small foundry and try my hand at casting not only tracks but road
wheels, swing arms , mantlets ,etc and maybe even a complete turret. If
I can do this then making spares or multiple tanks would be alot
easier. What can I say I enjoy the building.

Cheers James
