Derek,

Thanks for the tips. Now I can get to it.

My "mad money" account is a little low right now to.

I guess I may need to have an inventory sale to bolster my hobby account.

Cheers,

  Grant,

Well, probably not too many tricks to it. I used sprockets on both ends
(drive and idler)
and it seems to keep the tracks on. Other folks don't use a sprocket for the
idler, but
personally I think using a sprocket is the way to go. I wanted to make
throwing a track
as impossible as I could. I have yet to throw a track using the attachment
chain with
sprockets on both ends. I'm actually running the tracks quite loose. The
only other
suggestions I would have is to make the very first and very last suspension
arms with
stronger springs. That way when the track is under load (moving) the front
and rear
arms keep it tight. It also helps the tank not bounce during starts and
stops. It's
worked for me so far. In order to get the tension on the front most and rear
most springs
correct when using very stiff springs, I mount them while I have a board
under the tank
keeping it at the right ride height. I'm also using two springs on each
suspension arm
because I couldn't find any springs locally that were stiff enough while
being short enough
  the use in the tank.

I am very happy with the way the 883s perform. I actually bought mine from
Robot
Marketplace (and some off Ebay) along with the IMX-1 tank mixer. I also
bought my
Spektrum 5e radio from them. Haven't had any issues with them. They also
accept
Paypal for payment which is nice for me since I seem to constantly be selling
something
on Ebay and have money in that account. Money in my Paypal account is *my"
play money.
When I want something, I sell something on Ebay and then have money in my
Paypal account.
That way the wife can't tell me no....:) She did tell me no yesterday when I
asked if I could
buy a real M29 Weasel to restore that's not too far from where we will be
moving to. :) Darn her.
Something about me not having a job right now....I don't I quit listening
after that. ;)

    Derek,

I watched the video of your Sturmtiger. Great video...looks like the drive
system, suspension and tracks work well.

I'am going build my first suspension system using the 2060 attachment
chain. I was wondering if you had any tips or suggestions you could share.

Are you happy with the Victor 883 controllers. What are your thoughts on
buying them from the Robot Marketplace or direct from IFI (the Victors are on
sale at the Robot Marketplace....I've haven't bought from either supplier and I
was wondering which is the best to deal with).

    Tx,

    Grant
