Funny you should ask. I had one spring pop out during the last
Gettysburg battle. I think it happened while I was fighting my way
over an 8" log. I don't know why it popped out because the swingarms
do a very good job of capturing the springs in place. I will note
that the missing spring did little to the performance of the Cromwell,
in fact I didn't notice the missing spring until after the days
battling. I will be implementing a more secure form of spring
retention over the winters overhaul.

Regarding suspensions. I guess it's about time to write the
definitive article on R/C Tank Combat suspension systems. I
personally know that my design IS THE BEST TANK SUSPENSION ever
invented but I think I can highlight other suspensions with a somewhat
open mind. ;-)

Suspension builders, if you would like to send me a quick synopsis of
your system and any pertinent details that may not be readily apparent
please do so. Any ramblings on what lead to development of a
particular system or feature would be nice, also pics or diagrams
would be helpful. You can send stuff to my gmail account at
[email protected].
