Consider the following vehicle dimensions:
Full Scale Dimensions = 24' L x 12' W x 6' H
If you build it to 1:6 scale, you divide each dimension by 6 to yield:
1/6 Scale Dimensions = 4' L x 2' W x 1' H
If you build it to 3ft rule, you divide the length "into" 3ft to get:
Scale Ratio = 3' / 24' = 1:8
then, you divide each dimension by 8 to yield:
3ft Rule Dimensions = 3' L x 1.5' W x 0.75' H
In other words, use the ratio of lengths to determine the exact scale,
then compute the width and height using that scale.
