So far I have the complete drive train out of a wheel chair,4 servos,
2 12v batteries, and my platform that I am building to the 36" rule.
I have spent $3.00 on parts total.. that was for the servos on ebay. I
am going to be using a friction drive system that I am building from
old dirt track racing tires cut into 4" strips. and to drive the
friction drive system I am (currently) using 2 4" rims from the front
of a riding mower.
today I am going to be cutting some guide teeth. and for the bottom
rollers, I am using 10 legs off of couches. These are working good so
far because they have carrage bolts through the middle of them already
centered in the wood. I haven't decided on a tank design yet because
of how large the wheelchair motors are. And I think I will be using 2
car batterys to power it. So if that is the case, I will have to use a
bulky tank body to cover it all. For this massive of a setup, does
anyone of a large bulky tank body That I build to cover all of this?
What were some of the taller tanks or the more massive ones.

And the main question I have is:
if I start building a body and I have to make the hull a inch or 2
taller than scale to clear the motors, or the batterys, is this ok?
or if I have to make a raised cover just to cover the gear boxes on
the motors, is that ok?

is there any clear or outlined rules on this? because I haven't found
anything on it other than general building guidlines. I don't want to
goto my first tank war and have to watch because my tank is 1"to tall
at the turrent or something like that.

Thanks
Steve Cobb
