I had a couple of the low cost electric airsoft guns similar to the ones Joe linked to, except I think they were parts from Heng Long tanks. They were getting very poor range and misfiring often, and someone told me the problem was due to inferior BBs. But I didn't investigate further because I decided to go to an IR system.
