I'm not as cynical as Callum, I guess... I've flown RC for years, and I have had good experiences dealing with with Tower Hobbies, Hobby Lobby, Horizon Hobbies (distributor for E-Flite), and www.helidirect.com (helicopters and parts therefor, natch).
HOWEVER. If it all possible, I would recommend finding a local brick-and-mortar hobby shop and dealing with them.
