Little bits that get cut off: have small piece of tape to hand and once you've cut abit you stick tape on and it takes some of force when it gets thrown out. Wont hold all the time but shouldnt come out too quick. Masking tape also seems to work for cutting plastics like PVC. We've found in school workshop sometimes blades get warm enough to melt plastic as you go along but when you tape up along where your cutting it doesnt do it as much unless your trying to melt it together again.
