That's true, Greg, but no one would confuse a Mk 19 (a splendid piece of light ordnance) with a field gun. Even firing its best anti-vehicular round (HEDP), the Mk 19 is still firing a long-range version of a grenade that can be fired from a shoulder-fired 40mm grenade launcher, and even then, the range isn't that great.
Or, to put it in perspective vis-a-vis armour battles... If I was an infantry platoon commander in a fierce firefight with a similar enemy, and a HMMWV showed up with a Mk19 on it, I'd be overjoyed. If I was instead an armoured platoon commander in a fierce firefight against an equal enemy, I'd tell the Mk19 guys to hide until it was over. In tank-scale, the Mk19 is of so little use that it would be a liability. If we get into the 'special weapons to shoot at artillery crew' discussion, I would support a Mk19 being such a weapon. But it should not be an antitank weapon in-game. -- Clark in Georgia -- You are currently subscribed to the "R/C Tank Combat" group.
