It works beautifully. A electronic speed controller coupled to a 125:1
geared motor provides quite delicate control. The motor drives a 50mm
timing gear around the turret ring which as a 5mm pitch timing belt
glued on it's inner surface. Paintball proof!

NB. The speed controller is one for RC boats. Buggy type speed
controllers generally have the first part of the reverse sector as a
braking circuit. This would mean that in one direction, your turret
would be tryiong to operate as a regenerative braking system. Marine
speed controllers work the same way in forwards and reverse.
