Hi all- reports suggest we might get up to 7 this weekend in Surrey.
Weather forecast is cool, possible rain Saturday, but we often don't
get forecast rain due to local microclimate.

I've been thinking about scenarios and have come up with:

1. Get the baby. This is Neil's story. Team Albert to get Baby Eric
from point A to point B. Team Eric resist. Pick teams on the day as it
depends who is there. 1,000 points to winning team.

2. Counterattack. Losing side tries again- basically same story.

3. Otto's run. In this case Otto the infantryman is trying to sneak
Baby E to a "safe place" ie the other end of the field. What this
amounts to is that instead of attacking a fixed point you are
attacking a moving one, and both sides have to move in to attack- ie
don't have attackers and defenders per se.So if the field is a square
ABCD then Otto is going A-C and the 2 teams are at B and D. If Otto is
shot/stops working/falls over (all possible) then his side "abandons
secrecy" and puts Baby Eric on an asset. 1,000 points to winners if
Otto makes it (he can be restarted/give a push if you get an asset
next to him), 500 if BE gets there via another asset. Defenders get
the usual 250 points for offing Otto, and 750 for preventing BE from
getting home.

This can be run in reverse if required- Otto's a mercenary, you can
tell he's evil as he has an eye-patch.

4. Hide and sneak. Whoever has BE is still trying to sneak them out.
This time they have commandeered the 2 support vehicles. One has BE,
the other is a decoy (Otto can act as a 3rd player/decoy if required).
Each SV has a piece of paper indicating whether it's carrying BE or
decoy- only way of finding out is to disable it and then read the
note. Only the BE side knows which is which. So you have 3 teams- Team
Albert, Team Eric & Team Baby. Gives the SV drivers a chance to make
tactical decisions.1,000 points to wining team.

5. Tank run. This time one tank has got BE and has to get through
against everyone else. This is one for the woods, with lots of
buildings to act as cover. So 1 tank runs from cover to cover dodging
the enemy. 1000 points if you make it. Perhaps they can't get within
10 feet of baby (in case they wake him up??), or within a passage
marked by tin cans, to make it easier for the tank doing the run.
Various tankers can have a go, if they think they're hard enough.

6. Manhunt. Sickened by a long afternoon of war in a surburban garden,
Team Eric decide that the only solution is to hunt down Eric, Nurse
Nellie & Osama bin Albert who have taken cover in a nearby wood. 250
points each.

7. Barack-room brawl. Astoundingly Team Albert decide that Eric,
Nellie & Albert have to die whilst Team Eric have set up a Peace &
Reconciliation Commission to protect them and are prepared to shoot
anyone who isn't reconclied.

That's just some thoughts- suggestions welcome.

Oh, and I'm planning a Sat evening barbecue- OK grill-up looking at
the weather. 1 point for anyone who brings me a beer.

I have 1 spare bed and 2 spare rooms for sleeping on floors if reqd.
Any takers?

Phil
