I agree, 135w motors are too small. a 350w @ 24v is ideal for what ou are looking for, possibly 450w. Ply would by fine, but if you can afford alluminiumm, go fer it. Wood is just so much easier to work, readily availale, and modifyable. As for the the frontal tranny armour, chimney metal sheets may be too flimsy and might bend and dent on the first frontal bump you encounter. Try somthing a bit thicker and strurdier than tin.
