Cheers Fellas. Yeah, 21. I've been pretty lucky so far in life, I've always had great mentors. Ever since I started building tanks (6 or so years ago) all the people at rctankcombat.com have been very helpful. Because of my tanks I landed a very nice job in an aircraft machine shop making basic parts for all sorts of planes, mostly commercial jets. I learnt a lot about basic work shop practices in the 2 years I was there. It also helps to have a very suportive family, my mum (mom) actually advertises my tank blog on her face book page! ha.
>>It looks very nimble, for the weight. >>Your track must get exceptional traction to be able to push that >>tire!!!! yeah the motors (350W scooter motors) are great, I'm running a 1:1 reduction, I might even go a little slower in the future to gain some battery life. Tre tracks have so much traction its not funny! I got into a tug'o'war with my tank... I thought I was pretty fit, not the case! The tracks do have quite a bit of flex as they are only 3" wide, I think as long as the proper track tension is maintained they will stay on. >>I gues you must be >>practicing on the tire in case Steve and the Cromwell come to visit. >>You need not be so gentle, Steve won't. LOL. I was being a bit gentle because I have no fuses installed yet, so I didnt want to over work the motors just in case... >>Keep up the awesome work and get some of your mates to come over and >>have a battle. Yuo should have enough assets for a nice game. Thats the goal, I have a mate working on a tank, ever so slowly, but better then nothing! I think it will be a quite some time before we see battles of 4 or more tanks. Chris. b On Jun 14, 3:59 am, jvragu47 <[email protected]> wrote: > Chris, > You are the master down under! Great work.
