hmmm, i've been doing some more research and i came up with this: normal cars have power-to-weight ratio from 20-50W/kg so if my motor is 24V, and it drains 3A this is 72W if my tank weights 10kg this is 7.2W/kg, which is a little bit low, but might still me ok.
am i right on this equations ? 2010/6/21 Peter Pišljar <[email protected]> > my tank will weight less becouse it will be 1:12, thats why i have problems > as i cant find any information on such thanks. > also most of you guys use normal motors as i will be using stepper motor. > the reason for this is that i wont be making rc battle thank, but rather > a robot. so i need precise movement and ability to track the movement. this > is simple with stepper, and its very precise. tank will be made out of > aluminium, > so this will save some weight too. so 15kg is top limit i think. > > currently i'm looking at a stepper with 18,7kg*cm torque, but this number > doesnt tell me anything as i'm not familiar with mechanics. i'm computer > hardware student. > > > > 2010/6/21 Ben Holko <[email protected]> > > Most tanks also weigh quite a bit more than 15kg, I would think more like >> 30kg - 60kg would be the average, of course the smaller examples may get as >> low as 15kg. >> >> >> -----Original Message----- >> From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] >> On Behalf Of neroc >> Sent: Monday, 21 June 2010 10:41 PM >> To: R/C Tank Combat >> Subject: [TANKS] Re: motor choice >> >> Most people with successful tanks use scooter motors between 250-450 W . >> about 1/2 hp >> >> Neil R >> >> >> >> On Jun 21, 1:27 pm, Peter Pišljar <[email protected]> wrote: >> > hello. >> > >> > can somebody give me some ideas or equations on how strong must my >> > motor be, to move some weight. >> > >> > lets say my tank is 15kg, i need to know how much torque and horse >> > power should my motor have to move it easily. >> >> -- >> You are currently subscribed to the "R/C Tank Combat" group. >> To post a message, send email to [email protected] To >> unsubscribe, send email to [email protected] >> Visit the group at http://groups.google.com/group/rctankcombat >> >> -- >> You are currently subscribed to the "R/C Tank Combat" group. >> To post a message, send email to [email protected] >> To unsubscribe, send email to [email protected] >> Visit the group at http://groups.google.com/group/rctankcombat >> > > -- You are currently subscribed to the "R/C Tank Combat" group.
