Makeing the pads out of plastic wouldnt be a problem. The problem is that the
drive wheel might damage the track joints.

My 1/5 scale sherman tank will eventually need tracks so i am going to start
building them. Since i bought extra corrugated plastic i will use that as my
building material. I would staple two layers of 4mm corrugated plastic and bolt
the pieces together through the flutes. The only problem i can think of is how
i will make the track guides.

i don't know why, but it just doesn't sound right.

even if you double it up, the largest i see the pin being is maybe 2mm and i'm
not 100% sure, but that doesn't sound heavy enough for a track pin, nor does
the 1mm plastic surround and supporting it
