AC004 was clad in hardboard and worked fine. I tested with point-blank
paintball shots against panels of hardboard and there was no damage. The
hardboard does need to be thoroughly water-proofed. I coated it in TiteBond II
wood glue.

Are you sure hardboard will be strong enough? You may have thicker
grades than we get here, but I'm concerned it won't stand up to being
shot with paintballs.
