You might look into Dewalt 18v right angle cordless drills... The MAG guys say 
they can be over-volted to 24v without too much worry... They are small and 
poweful motors plus you can try smaller sized batteries to run them... 
Small/light tanks may be the way to go (especially when you get old like me and 
have trouble lifting a 120 lbs Brumm)....
We should try and get together to show you what we’ve done and give you a 
better idea of what it all entails... I live NorthWest and Aaron lives in the 
boondocks (Overton)....

yea it is proving a challenge.. ive had to rescale my drawings several times.. 
but i got it now.. and i took robotics my freshmen year and robotics two next 
year.. and i am a r/c hobbiest so i no a thing or to about r/cs.. but not 
electronics -.-

wrong ?
You may find designing your tank a real challenge until you know the
sizes of the parts your going to use :- motors , batteries and the
like .
Remember you dont have to make it radio control if you dont wish to.
nothing wrong with a tank on a wire. very few people do this option
but it would save a whole load of problems .
