As Aaron states, it's for keeping the turret and the hull separate.  They 
are both two independent r/c models that share the same transmitter in 
T040's case.  There is a 3 channel rx in the hull that is controlling the 
left/right motors and the turret rotate (three functions).  The seven 
channel rx in the turret is controlling elevate and trigger functions.  

As far as I know, this can only be done using the older analog radios and 
not the newer 2.4ghz systems.
