I didnt realize that upgunning the tiger boosted its game tier placement...
time to take that off... i get hammered  in most matches and a drop in tier
even with a weaker gun will help my profitability hopefully... I have yet to
see much benefit to spending gold on ammo, rather ive used it to transfer xp
around so i can have multiple tanks working toward one reseach goal, this gets
the xp portion of the research done faster but now makes credits the limiting
factor so its become something im paying attention to.

I'm in the German tree.  Currently playing a Hummel SPG and enjoying the heck
out of it for the most part.  Sometimes I'll get a good battle and get a few
kills, sometimes I get a bad arty map and die quickly without doing anything.
Last night I got the Confederate achievement (damage 6 unique enemy vehicles
that eventually get killed by teammates) in the Hummel.  I've even gotten Top
Gun three times in it.  Heh.

For tanks, currently in a Tiger.  Admittedly, I don't pay much attention to
repair costs after a battle so don't know if I am loosing or making credits.
All I'm trying to do is slog through the research points to get a Tiger II ...
still a long ways to go.  The Tiger can be frustrating especially after
upgrading the stock gun.  The upgraded gun immediately boosts the tank into
higher tier battles where the Tiger can be outgunned by heavier opponants.
Still, I've had some pretty good battles with it.  The tank can really take a
pounding.  My current tactic is to basically hang back a little and let the
heavier (or faster) tanks take the lead, then follow and support them.  The gun
reloads fast enough to get two shots for every one of the enemy tanks.
Combined with gold ammo the tank has a half decent bite.

Are any of you guys playing the german SPG line?

Ive stayed primarily with the german tank line and have managed to get the
tiger thus far and am only a few hundred thousand credits from having the
panther...
the tiger, at least for me has been a reliable money loser generally costing me
around 7k per match due to low payout and high repair and ammo costs... ive
tried varying tactics with lackluster results for the tiger adn stick to
playing my mediums and lights to pay the bills and the heavy to up the
frusturation level :) I hope Ill be a bit more successful with the panther but
i dont have a lot of faith in it...

The upgraded gun is still better, it's just a frustrating SPG all
around. It doesnt do much damage either. Cant wait for the M41, but it
will have to wait it's turn. I am currently close to replaceing my T20
with a Pershing. Not a bad accomplishment with only a standard
account.
