since i won't be going with the torsion suspension and am now going with the (coil) spring arrangement as some of you currently use, i dropped the tiger hull off for some more wood work (adding some along the inner sides and leveling off the bottom). while it's there i want to work out the rest of the spring suspension. i'm thinking of using a split lock collar and add a metal tab to it where the spring can attach to. i'll be heading to home depot tomorrow to pick up some other things and will look to see if they have any lock collars (if not i might try tractor supply). but my next question is, can a piece of steel be welded to the lock collar or will there be a problem as i am guessing the collar will be a hardened steel. also, the spring, anything special? anything i should look at while at home depot?
