As soon as I have some extra money, I can start working on some
stuff. I have a personal interest in micromanufacturing, and plan on
making that my career--developing and improving methods to produce
small quantities economically. This area is starting to receive more
attention now that motion control and such have reached the point
where even an individual can afford to buy and experiment. It "no
longer takes a factory" to redo an old meme. This hobby is a good
niche to work in on that, since it demands low price, but is also low
volume.

I have a wooden tank in the works, but I'm not sure if I'll finish it,
I have an aluminum design set up, but haven't made it yet. For that
one what I was looking at for a turret ring was to take a solid piece
of plastic and cut the hole and guide rails and such in it, as well as
space for a gearbox and motor to setup. A matching ring, with a gear
cut around it, would set inside and hook on. This might weigh more,
and be somewhat costly, but I can make it on a CNC router, so it's not
that much, and should be rather reliable.

For handling, I've been looking at small trailers, and have thoughts
in mind for a "recovery cart" adapted from a lawn cart with a winch
and ramp to just pull up, winch the bad tank on, then return to the
trailer. You can get a small four foot square trailer from Harbor
Freight that is light enough to be pulled behind most cars, and again,
set up properly it'd make things loads easier. You could probably
spend more on all that stuff than the tank though. ;)
